We'll meet up at the designated time in front of the Petruzzelli Theatre in the center of Bari before driving in the minibus to Alberobello, about an hour away.
Alberobello is one of the jewels of the Italian region of Puglia. The town is known for its unique stone houses, or 'trullos', declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. As we explore the picturesque districts of Rione Aia Piccola and Rione dei Monti, you will hear all about the origin of these wonderful buildings.
We will step inside one of the pretty trullos, where you will meet one of the families that inhabit these curious houses. As they explain how these buildings were built, we'll take part in an extra virgin olive oil tasting session, one of the most popular products in Puglia.
We'll leave Alberobello behind, and before we reach Bari, we'll make a short stop for 30 minutes in Polignano a Mare to admire the incredible views of the coast. Don't forget to take a picture!
After visiting the trullo, you will have an hour of free time to browse the handicraft stalls of Alberobello. The handcrafted products found here are famous all over Puglia and beyond. Finally, we will return to the Petruzzelli Theatre in Bari, where our brilliant trip finishes after a total of 6 hours.
