Are you in Fez? If you want to discover the charms of the desert and its stunning Amazigh towns, don't miss this 3-day trip to Merzouga, finishing in Marrakesh.

3-Day Trip

Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Erfoud - Merzouga

Once we collect you from your hotel or riad in Fez, we'll make our way towards the Merzouga Desert. On the way, we'll pass through locations such as Ifrane, nicknamed the Moroccan Switzerland. Do you know how it came to be called this? We'll also have the chance to visit the charming landscapes of Azrou.

The tour will continue by traversing the Ziz valley and gorges until we reach Erfoud. That evening, we'll enjoy a camel ride through the Merzouga desert. You'll adore the landscape! If you wish, you can also enjoy an optional quad tour.

After having a delicious meal, we'll rest up at the Haimas Camp until the following day.

Day 2: Merzouga – Todgha Gorge – Dadès Gorge

The next day will begin atop the Merzouga dunes at sunrise. Photo time! Afterwards, we'll enjoy breakfast and continue our route towards the famous Todgha Gorge. The impressive landscape here will leave you speechless.

Before bringing the second day to a close, we'll make our way to the incredible Dadès Gorge, where we'll grab a bite to eat and rest for the evening in a nearby hotel until the following day.

Day 3: Dadès Gorge – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh

We'll have a delicious breakfast at the hotel and once we've finished we'll begin our journey towards Ouarzazate. There, we'll explore its outskirts and visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Movie lovers will instantly recognize this location!

You'll have free time here for lunch and to take some photos, and then we'll continue this tour by passing through Amazigh villages that lie in the foothills of the Atlas mountain range. Did you know that this is one of the most famous mountain ranges in Morocco?

Finally, at around 6 pm, we'll arrive in Marrakesh

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes pickup from hotels in Fez. However, if you're staying within the Medina, please make your way to the Blue Gate (Bab Bou Jeloud), where your guide will meet you.

Day Trip Accommodation

During the booking process, you'll be able to choose between staying at the types of accommodation: Standard (2 or 3 stars) or Superior (4 stars).

Standard Accommodation:

Merzouga Desert (first night): standard haimas camping
Dadés Gorge (second night): Hotel Babylon, Kasbah Tifawen, Auberge Panorama or similar.

Superior Accommodation:

Merzouga Desert (first night): superior Haimas camping
Dadés Gorge (segunda noche): Hotel Babylon, Kasbah Tifawen, Auberge Panorama or similar.

Types of Bedrooms

At the camp in Merzouga, the standard category haimas can accommodate a maximum of 4 people, while the superior category haimas can accommodate a maximum of 5 people. Both categories have private bathrooms.

The standard and superior camps are completely separate, there are differences in the food and in the interior decoration of the haimas. Please note that not all camps have wifi and that air-conditioning in the superior camps costs an additional 30EUR per haima.

In addition, in high season, such as Easter or Christmas, you may have to rely on camps with shared bathrooms in the standard category.

In both the hotels and the desert camps, there is no possibility of single occupancy. If you book for a single person, a supplement will be applied. Under no circumstances will you have to share rooms or tents with strangers. If you prefer, there are also triple or family rooms and haimas available, respecting the same differences according to the category.

Private Day Trip

If you want to do this same activity with a guide exclusively for you, we recommend you to book the 3-day private trip to the desert of Merzouga ending in Marrakech. Undoubtedly, a very personalised experience to visit one of the jewels of Morocco.
